Biography
Angela Murillo focuses her research on data curation, scientific data management, data cyberinfrastructure, and data science. She has worked in industry, government agencies, and academia and brings those perspectives into her research and teaching.
Before coming to IUPUI, she worked as a research and development information scientist at the global biotechnology company Novozymes, held lecture and research appointments at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a lecture appointment at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Her work has included helping to develop the Applied Data and Information Science undergraduate degree and was awarded the Indiana University Trustees’ Teaching award in 2022.
