BIOL-N 207 Physiology for Healthcare Management

3 credits

  • Prerequisites: BIOL-N 211 or BIOL-N 261
  • Delivery: Online
  • This course provides students with an introductory but solid foundation in physiology. This course focuses on the study of internal and external structures, and the physical relations between these structures. Physiology in this course is studied at many levels, from molecular through microscopic to whole body, and some physiological concepts are analyzed from a pathophysiology perspective.

Note: Cannot substitute for BIOL-N 217 Human Physiology (5 cr.).

    Learning Outcomes

    1. Have a clear overview of human physiology.
    2. Identify and describe physiological functions from the level of the cell to the organism including the chemical basis of cell structure and physiology.
    3. Identify and describe the effects of properly and improperly functioning organs and systems of the human body.
    4. Identify and describe modifications of the systems and their effects on the functioning of the systems and the body.
    5. Identify and describe the integration that occurs within cells, tissues, organs, and systems.
    6. Identify the use of some of the basic scientific methods and principles of physiology testing.
