This course describes the drivers and challenges, the data and services of electronic health information exchange (HIE). The five focus areas of HIE are reviewed relative to strategies and actions: Aligning Incentives; Engaging Consumers; Improving Population Health; Managing Privacy, Security and Confidentiality; and, Transforming Care Delivery.
