- Understand the basics of the nature, scope, and characteristics of the disciplines.
- Identify and understand the scope and functionality of the major information resources in humanities disciplines.
- Understand key elements of the nature of information seeking behavior by scholars, students, and others working with humanities information sources.
- Effectively retrieve and evaluate information in the disciplines.
An introduction to information sources and services in the humanities with emphasis on the disciplines of performing arts, music, fine arts, literature, linguistics, philosophy, and religion. In addition, the course addresses information needs and behavior patterns of users seeking these types of information.
