  • Introduction to designing and developing games, examining the role that games play in daily life, and analyzing the impact of games in popular culture. Additional topics include world creation, game space design, programming 2D games, character and creature design, animation, and playability testing.

    Extended Course Description

    The start of the main Video Game track, n230 exposes students to the introductory principles of creating a video game through the Epic-Unreal-Engine-4. The first half of the class examines game design principles and teaches how to create and craft a 3D world to explore and play in, while the second half teaches how to use programming to create effects, particles, and other interactive game element to enhance and create play for players.
