SoIC professor’s $499,941 IMLS grant focuses on rural libraries for STEM outreach

Soo Hyeon Kim, Ph.D., an assistant professor of library and information science at SoIC, and her team are using a $499,941 IMLS grant for their 3-year STEM research project: “Family Makers: Online Engineering Program for Underserved Children and Caregivers at Rural Libraries.” It will include input from rural engineers, and focus on developing online learning opportunities through public libraries.
