Human-Centered Computing faculty Khairi Reda is part of the IU research team that is working to develop data models for better monitoring of drug use. Reda and Mathew Aalsma of the Indiana University School of Medicine received a $5.1M grant from the National Institutes of Health to conduct their study.
Using data available through state partners, including the Indiana Department of Health, the researchers will work with county-based local overdose fatality review teams to provide more timely overdose event and death data to improve local action.
