Student Services staffers from IU’s Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering in Indianapolis have been racking up national and state honors in 2023 for their accomplishments. Those honored (from left) are: Taylor Dooley, Kevin Lema, Karley Clayton, and Betsy Parker.

NACADA winner
As 2022-23 IUPUI Academic Advisor of the Year, Betsy Parker represented the campus as a candidate for the NACADA national awards.
Parker, a Luddy Indianapolis undergraduate academic advisor, was selected from thousands of eligible advisors from around the world as a recipient of the Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Advising (Primary Advising Role). She will be honored at the national conference in October.
Established in 1983, the NACADA Global Awards Program for Academic Advising honors individuals and institutions making significant impact on academic advising. NACADA is a representative and advocate of academic advising and those providing that service to higher education.
2023 NACE Chevron Award
Karley Clayton, Luddy Indianapolis director of career services, and Kevin Lema, assistant program director of Undergraduate Career Services, earned a remarkable honor on the national level. They received the prestigious 2023 NACE Chevron Award from the National Association of Colleges and Employers for their highly regarded work on “Closing the Equity Gap: First Generation Student Success Campaign.” This was a collaborative initiative with the IUPUI First Generation Committee.
They also received the Career Development Professionals of Indiana Career Services Innovation Award for this event.
NACE recognized Clayton and Lema for their innovative approach and exceptional contributions to the college career services field.

Lema also was honored as the Outstanding New Career Professional at the Career Development Professionals of Indiana statewide career conference. His remarkable contributions in career development curriculum, fostering faculty relationships, and revamping the Career Services webpages have set him apart as an outstanding professional.
2023 Leticia Campodonico Award
Luddy Indianapolis Director of Undergraduate Recruitment Taylor Dooley received the statewide award from the Indiana Association for College Admission Counseling. The Leticia Campodonico Award honors Dooley’s work at Luddy Indianapolis in supporting and encouraging underrepresented and underserved students in their transition from high school to college.
