Biography

Huanmei Wu is a former BioHealth Informatics Department chair, biomedical informatics and bioinformatics program director, and professor of bioinformatics at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering in Indianapolis.

Her background has served her well in multidisciplinary research, leading to projects that explore the role of data management and analytics in computer science,  engineering, and technology, and how they can further medical and life science research.

In the field of biomedical research she is especially interested in personalized health and precision medicine, genomics/proteomics data mining and integrative prediction, image guided cancer radiation treatment, and big data analytics over massive biomedical information.

An award-winning researcher, her interests also include scientific database design and utilization, big data analytics, bioinformatics, and health informatics. Her research has been funded by NIH, PCORI, JDRI, and several research labs.
