Guidelines for External Proposal Submissions

Last updated: January 2024

Scope

This serves as a general guideline for all Luddy Indianapolis faculty and staff who may submit external grant proposals through the school’s research administration team.

Policy Statement

As early as possible (at least two weeks before the deadline) please submit your requests for assistance here, Proposal Submission Support Request. This fireform can also be found on the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering website.

Adhering to the internal deadlines is of utmost importance as it enables the Department and the School to effectively review, process, and forward the documents to the relevant campus offices, all while remaining in alignment with the institutional deadline of 4 business days, as stipulated by the Office of Research Administration and Indiana University policy. Specifically, it is critical that each PI submit all the FINAL administrative sections of an external proposal to the School’s Grant Support Team (Cassie Lockwood and Dagny Colgan) at least seven (7) business days before the external agency deadline.

Submit your final research component of the proposal at least one day before the deadline date to give enough time to avoid last minute issues and “traffic jam”.

Policy Summary

  • Requests for proposal assistance: as early as possible, but at least two weeks before the deadline date.
  • Administrative sections: at least 7 business days before the deadline date.
  • Final research part of the proposal body: at least 1 day before the deadline date.
