Why Your Support Is Critical

Tuition and state assistance alone does not provide the margin of excellence needed to support tomorrow’s technology leaders or and the faculty who train and mentor them. Support from alumni, corporations, and foundations makes so much more possible.

Our students learn computing skills that allow them to solve real human problems in preparation for rewarding careers in most any field of interest. Private support plays a huge part in helping students realize these opportunities, while helping the school fill the critical demand for a skilled IT workforce.

U.S. employment in information technology (IT) will increase 12 percent through 2024 with the addition of 488,500 new jobs—the fastest growth among all occupations—making our school a critical force for information technology education, research, and economic development in our state and nation.

How to Give

Gifts are made through the IU Foundation. Select the type of gift you want to make, then choose Schools and Colleges. Select IUPUI and then designate the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering in Indianapolis. Search for a fund or choose the specific fund to which you want to make a gift and then proceed with the gift details.

Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees and their families to support charitable organizations like the Luddy Indianapolis. Learn whether your company sponsors a matching gift program, which could double or even triple the impact of your gift.

Leadership Gifts and Major Gifts

Leadership gifts and major gifts are extraordinary and visionary investments that strengthen our students, faculty, and school in perpetuity. These gifts provide us with named facilities or with endowed and named scholarships, fellowships, chairs, programs, and centers.

Planned Gifts and Deferred Gifts

You can have a permanent effect on our student and faculty success through a planned gift or deferred gift. These gifts also can help you realize your personal goals in managing your finances, estate planning, and taxes. Please use the IU Foundation’s planned giving site to discover how to make a gift that also furthers your goals and interests.

Donors who invest in the Luddy Indianapolis with a planned or deferred gift are automatically enrolled in IU’s prestigious Arbutus Society.

Indiana Tax Credit

Indiana taxpayers are eligible for a tax credit of 50% of their gift to IU.
