Student Ambassadors are Luddy Indianapolis undergraduate students. We are looking for students from a variety of different backgrounds. As an ambassador, you’re willing to support students who would like to learn more about our school and programs. In addition, you are outgoing, responsible, and a role model to others.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Dedicated to helping prospective students find their fit within Luddy Indianapolis.
Meet with visiting families and prospective students to educate them about the opportunities offered through Informatics and Computing.
Lead tours and host student panels for those who come to visit us at IUPUI.
Work recruitment events hosted by the Undergraduate Recruiters, and assist with IUPUI Admission events such as Jag Day, Decision Day, and Destination IUPUI.
Have the opportunity to speak to students from the high school you graduated from, by visiting with an undergraduate recruiter.
Required Qualifications
Be a full-time undergraduate student in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering in Indianapolis.
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 or above.
Must be able to commit time to working events, monthly training, and ambassador socials.
Must be flexible, passionate, and outgoing.
Expectations
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude when working with families and prospective students.
Required to work at least two events to maintain active status as an ambassador.
Luddy Indianapolis Peer Advisors provide support to academic advising and career services staff within the Luddy Indianapolis undergraduate programs. They are available for open office hours to help Luddy Indianapolis students navigate the university system, master basic academic processes, act as a referral source for academic and career development; facilitate career workshops; and offer a complementary point of view to advising and career services staff perspectives.
Peer Advisors actively engage in training and professional development to enhance their own experience, promoting increased levels of responsibility and furthering skill development.
This position requires a one-year commitment (Summer 2023 – Spring 2024) which includes 2-day summer training.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide drop-in support in relation to academic advising and career services to Luddy Indianapolis students, both in person and online:
Offer guidance on university policies, procedures, and deadlines.
Provide information on campus resources and direct students to them, as appropriate.
Assist students with navigating university technology, including email, One, Student Center, Handshake, Canvas, iGPS, and Luddy Indianapolis website.
Help students schedule appointments for advising and career services.
Support students through the process of searching for courses, building a schedule, and enrolling in classes.
Assist students in making mid-semester schedule adjustments and those needing to withdraw from courses.
Guide students through various online tools and resources to help them gather information on degree requirements and career prep tools and opportunities.
Assist students with the completion of university forms that impact their progress toward completing their degree.
Assisting students one on one during drop-in hours to assist in basic job search and resume building as well as upcoming market programs and events.
Review email, online student-submitted resume and cover letter drafts, and providing detailed and tailored feedback in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of drop-in student meetings in the Advising Records (AdRx) system.
May assist with providing support to probation students.
Support Luddy Indianapolis outreach, programs, career workshops, and special projects
Attend and actively engage in all training, professional development, and weekly staff meetings.
Required Qualifications:
Be a full-time undergraduate student in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering in Indianapolis.
A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Working knowledge of university email, Canvas, One, iGPS, Handshake, and class registration process.
Skilled in problem solving and communication (verbal and written).
Ability to conduct self in a professional manner and embrace the diversity of all IUPUI students and guests.
Ability to listen actively and ask questions to determine the needs of students and guests.
Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with other staff.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with student educational records.
The Front Desk workers communicate with students regarding Luddy Indianapolis Student Services, schedule advising and career appointments, assist with student check-in, answer phone and email, and collaborate with the student services professional staff regarding a variety of clerical projects. Students must have some availability between the hours of 9 am – 5 pm.

Offer guidance on university policies, procedures, and deadlines.

Maintain the overall operation and organization of the front desk and lobby areas.
Luddy Indianapolis Career Services provides wrap-around services for students and employers including employer relations, individual career appointments, hosting career workshops and events (like career fairs) and tracking where our students go after graduation through the First Destination Services report.
The Career Services Graphic Design & Media Intern supports the work of career services by helping the team get out important information and messaging to employers, students, and other stakeholders through creative means.

Be a full-time undergraduate at IUPUI, preferably Media Arts and Sciences.
A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Have a strong foundation in design, photography, and videography.
Has a history of taking initiative and working independently.
Ability to conduct self in a professional manner and embrace the diversity of all IUPUI students and guests.
Ability to listen actively and ask questions to determine the needs of students and guests.
Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with other staff.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with student educational records.

Compensation
We value your dedication and commitment to our team. All positions are compensated at a competitive starting rate of $10.15 per hour, recognizing the importance of your contributions to our mission.
