Biography
I am currently a M.L.I.S. candidate here at IUPUI. I have been working in academic libraries for over six years. I started my career as an information science professional as a student assistant for the Northern Kentucky University libraries. After completing a B.A. in Organizational Leadership from NKU, I worked in the residential life department of West Virginia University for two years.
In the fall of 2016, I accepted a circulation technician position with the Miami University libraries in Oxford, Ohio. During my 4 years with the MU libraries I have been promoted to Sr. Library Technician and completed a M.Ed. from Earlham College. I choose IUPUI since the online M.L.I.S. program allows me to work full-time, while earning a nationally recognized Indiana University degree at an affordable price.
Hometown: Mason, Ohio
Current Positions:
- Sr. Library Technician, Miami University Libraries
- IUPUI Emerging Scholars in College Instruction Cohort
- IUPUI M.L.I.S. Student Advisory Board
Advice to new students: Explore your interests and take time to get to know your classmates and professors. I also encourage college of informatics students to seek out new experiences and don’t hesitate to ask for help.
